Churchianity or Christianity

What marvelous love the Father has extended to us! Just look at it—we’re called children of God! That’s who we really are. 1 Jn 3:1

The more we get to know the Lord, the more we discover His Love! Unfortunately, part of the breakdown that came with the entrance of sin was the revelation of God’s awesome love for us. When Adam and Eve discovered they were naked and the glory had departed, they hid in fear and then tried to make some clothes out of fig leaves. Who were they afraid of?

What was God’s reaction? He immediately made a sacrifice of blood in order to cover man in His mercy. Then He made a promise, “Your seed shall crush Satan’s head.”

A lot of times we are like Adam and Eve. We lose sight of the One who covers us in His perfect blood, and grasp at fig leaves to try to hide our imperfections in religious rules and regulations. That’s not Christianity, that’s Churchianity.

Churchianity will burden you down with fear and the constant scramble to keep those leaves from tearing apart. Christianity rests in the love and mercy of the Father displayed at Calvary. God is not some mad ogre looking for an opportunity to judge. Love came walking in the cool of the evening to rescue Adam and Eve. Love came down 2,000 years ago to take your punishment and judgment in order to cover all who will believe in Him with His glory.

So what bush are you hiding behind today? What has got you gripped in fear or accusation? God wants to give you fresh revelation of His love. Come out and let Your loving Father cover you today.

Excellent post! When Adam and Eve utilized the dominion Father gave them to actually create the culture of an orphan, Father was quick to re-establish His preference of sonship! May we all forsake the orphan spirit and once again receive the Spirit of Sonship conferred upon us peace!
